Get ready to wrap up 2025 with an epic reading adventure! The Portsmouth Free Public Library invites kids from Pre-K to 5th grade to join the Wrap-up 2025 Reading Challenge. Running from November 3, 2025, to January 2, 2026, this challenge is packed with fun and prizes, all through the easy-to-use Beanstack (https://portsmouthlibrary.beanstack.org) online platform.
We are so pleased to celebrate our annual Tree Lighting with your family...and with Santa! Come to the library on Sunday, December 7th at 5:30 pm to begin the celebration. Santa arrives promptly at 6 pm on a Firetruck (don't be late, you don't want to miss it!)
Get ready for a magical morning! Beloved children’s author Jill Austin is returning to the Portsmouth Free Public Library for a special storytime on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
Kids in grades 3-5 are invited to join us for an in-person paint party with artist Julie Harrold. All supplies will be provided, and kids will go home with their own masterpiece! Registration is required, and limited. Registration will open on September 14th.
