Teens are welcome to pick up a candy sushi kit in the Teen Area starting Monday morning. Kits are for teens in rising 6th-12th grade only, and only 1 kit per teen is allowed. Kits are out for the week, but they are first come first served and quantities are limited.
Join Shannah and Nicole as we walk you through what you need to know as the parent of an incoming PHS student. We will cover technology needs and communication, fall sports, band camp, and what to expect the first week of school.
Nicole has a sophomore daughter and was new to the Portsmouth School district last year. Shannah has a senior son and knows all the ins and outs!
Our Food Exploration continues with a Tie Dye Cake Decorating Contest!
Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the library to decorate a cake inspired by the 1960's or 1970's. One winning design will be chosen to win a prize. All ingredients provided. Everyone goes home with a cake! Registration required.
Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for a pantry basics program, based around putting together a meal that includes protein, fat, carbs, and veggies. Participants will learn about locally sourced food and pairings for a great tasting meal that is nutritionally balanced. If anyone has allergies, we need to know prior to the program, and we cannot guarantee Farm Fresh RI will be able to accommodate. Registration is required and opens in June - space is limited!
Make it vintage! Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the library to re-design or embellish a pair of jean shorts you bring from home. Karen Katin, owner of The Stitchery, will be on hand to lead participants through the process. Registration required; sign up begins July 1st.
