Get ready to wrap up 2024 with an epic reading adventure! The Portsmouth Free Public Library invites kids from Pre-K to 5th grade to join the Wrap-up 2024 Reading Challenge. Running from November 4, 2024, to January 3, 2025, this challenge is packed with fun and prizes, all through the easy-to-use Beanstack (https://portsmouthlibrary.beanstack.org) online platform.
We are so pleased to celebrate our annual Tree Lighting with your family...and with Santa! Come to the library on Sunday, December 1st at 5:30 pm to begin the celebration. Santa arrives promptly at 6 pm on a Firetruck (don't be late, you don't want to miss it!)

Get ready for a night of fun and fright at the Portsmouth Free Public Library! On October 30 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, the Children's Library is hosting a Family Halloween Party full of crafts, treats, and spooky surprises for kids up to 5th grade! Come join us for a hauntingly good time!
Storytime for children age 3 and up! This storytime is a drop event; no registration is required.

Pokemon Club at the Portsmouth Library! Have cards at home but not sure how to play? Love playing and want to do it more? Head to library to learn and play with friends!
This program is for grades K through 5! Parents are required to stay to watch kids play and trading is only allowed with parents permission.

Discover the wonders of the night sky with Sky Kids, a FREE children's program hosted by volunteers from Skyscrapers, Inc., a group of amateur astronomers who love to share their passion for astronomy. This exciting program is designed for kids in grades K to 5 and will be held twice a month in the evening hours at the library.
