Scott Travers from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Fish and Wildlife, is hosting a FREE fly tying and fly fishing event. Participants will learn to make their own fresh water flies over a couple of sessions then have the opportunity to fish using the flies they created at a private fly fishing event in Rhode Island. This course is geared towards novices and experienced fly tiers alike.

Come learn the basics of using the site and what is available to patrons. The differences between the paid site and the library edition will be highlighted, along with which records and resources are available on both. No experience necessary.
Anne B. Wagner will help you get organized and stay on track with your family history research with forms that belong in every genealogist's toolkit. Every family historian needs certain staple charts and worksheets for tracking relatives and recording the research progress. This informative workshop is a must for beginners and a wonderful review for more experienced genealogists.
Members of the RI Historical Cemetery Commission Pegee Malcolm and Lew Keen will speak about the many historical cemeteries in RI. The 14 member commission represents the 5 counties in RI and maintains a database to disseminate information about RI's approximately 3200 cemeteries and the folks interred in them. These historic cemeteries demonstrate how each community developed and changed.
Learn the craft of rug hooking if you are new to the craft or work on an existing project if you are a seasoned rug hooker at "The Island Hook-In" taught by Roberta Conti. This session will show newcomers how to do rug hooking and get advice on starting a project of their own. Roberta advises watching a Youtube video by Gene Shepard or a tutorial by Sara Beth Black to get an idea of the process. This session, you can continue your new project and fine tune your new skill of rug hooking.
