Join us for a discussion of The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler.
People of all ages are invited to participate in the sixth annual reading of the Declaration of Independence on the grounds of Portsmouth Free Public Library. Each person who wishes may read a marked section of our nation’s founding document and we will finish in unison. Families are welcome and children who can read and recite are encouraged to take part. Copies will be available or you may bring your own. In case of rain, we will meet inside the library’s program room.
We will be explaining Save the Bay's storm drain marking project and demonstrating to volunteers how to use the storm drain marking kits.
Jeannette Bessinger will teach you a few key reasons you need to be getting more veggies into your diet, but how much broccoli can anyone actually eat? Salad is an easy, tasty way to get yourself noshing on the rainbow every day.
Ever wanted to give knitting a go?
Join us for a book talk, reading, and signing from local Portsmouth authors Kyra Rose and Kacey Victoria S. They both wrote and published books for their senior projects at Portsmouth High School, and will be here to talk about the process, read an excerpt, and do a signing. Please register as space is limited. Great for those interested in writing, publishing, and for those who would like to support our local authors!
Join our conversation about this year's Kids Read Across RI book: Sanity and Tallulah by Molly Brooks. We'll be handing out ten free copies of the book beginning July 1; first come, first served. Should we run out, we'll be happy to reserve a copy for you!
