Understanding when, where and why vital records were created, and the changes in those practices over the years, can help us find them today. What additional abstracts have been created for the southern New England states? What forms of these records are available online? What kind of records might take the place of a vital record? Improve your family history research today by maximizing your ability to locate the records that tie generations together.
Touch A Truck Fundraiser at Glen Park
Come touch a variety of trucks, motorcycles, and equipment while supporting the Library! Everyone will have a chance to see, touch, blow horns, and learn about dozens of cool vehicles. For those who don't like the noise, there will be a quiet hour from 1 to 2 PM when no horns or sirens will sound. Food will be available for purchase from the Lions' Club.
This event is a fundraiser for the Library. Admission is $3 per person for the day.
All Charity Day Fundraiser at Newport Polo
The Newport International Polo Series 3rd annual All Charity Day will be on Sunday, July 14, 2019, as a fun afternoon for supporters of many 501-c-3 organizations, with exciting polo action to benefit local civic and charitable organizations. The 6-chukker match will begin at 5pm, featuring players from the Newport Polo Club competing.
This is a fundraiser for the Library and tickets will only be sold at the Library. No tickets will be sold at Newport Polo. Entry gates will open at 3pm. Please bring your tickets to show at the gate.
Tree Lighting
Please join us on Sunday, December 2 at 5:30 PM at Portsmouth Free Public Library, 2658 East Main Road, Portsmouth, for the 35th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting program. The tree lighting will take place when Santa Claus arrives at 6 PM. Santa will greet each child in the Library after the lighting and cocoa and cookies will be served. Bri
