Members of the RI Historical Cemetery Commission Pegee Malcolm and Lew Keen will speak about the many historical cemeteries in RI. The 14 member commission represents the 5 counties in RI and maintains a database to disseminate information about RI's approximately 3200 cemeteries and the folks interred in them. These historic cemeteries demonstrate how each community developed and changed. Come learn about how to navigate the database which now has over 435,000 gravestone inscriptions recorded in 3,143 cemeteries in a project that started in 1990.
