Portsmouth Free Public Library is always grateful for support, whether it comes in the form of a financial donation, donation of materials, or donation of time as a volunteer. Thank you for your interest in supporting your library!
There are many ways you can help support the operations of Portsmouth Free Public Library.
- Financial Support — fill out a "Donation Form" available from any library administration staff member.
- Matching Gifts — Corporate matching gifts are a great way to maximize personal contributions. By taking advantage of your employer's matching gift benefit, you may be able to double or even triple the amount of a contribution. Please contact your employer's Human Resources department to determine availability.
- Memorial Donations — honor a loved one or celebrate a birthday with monetary donation. Support the Library

Volunteers
The library is not currently accepting volunteers at this time.
Annual Fundraisers
The library's town-wide annual appeal letter is sent out in October. Your tax-deductible donation to the library is always most appreciated.
Clements' Marketplace
Clements Market's Friends' Fund was started in 1997 to help non-profit organizations earn money. Save your Clements receipts and bring them to the library. There is a collection box as you enter the lobby. The program has donated over $100,000 to the library since 1997!
The Book Nook
The Book Nook is a small ongoing book sale staffed by volunteers and open during regular library hours. A variety of adult fiction and non-fiction titles are available along with a selection of teen and children's books. The stock is always changing, so visit often. Proceeds from this book sale help fund library services.
If you wish to donate books, please place books in good condition in the plastic bins near the Book Nook door. Please no old, musty books, textbooks, or magazines In addition, we do not accept encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, VHS movies, or books on cassette tape.
