Michael F. Dwyer, named after his grandfather born in Newport, has been researching his Rhode Island families for 40 years. His maternal roots go back to some of Portsmouth’s earliest families: Tripp, Cornell, Brayton, and Dennis. A Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists, he has published dozens of genealogical articles. Michael edits Vermont Genealogy and co-edits Rhode Island Roots with Cherry Fletcher Bamberg. In June 2018, he retired after 35 years of teaching English and history in Vermont high schools. Michael's talk will focus on how his DNA test furthered his family history research. Following his presentation, the audience will have time to ask their questions.
