Portsmouth: Then and Now with Jim Garman

Portsmouth Historical Society President Jim Garman will be giving a lecture at the Library called “Portsmouth: Then and Now”.  This will be an illustrated lecture showing some scenes from Portsmouth many years ago and the same scene as it is today. 

This program is free and open to the public.  Seating is limited so please register for the program by filling out the registration form below or call the library at 683-9457.

Find out how Claremary Sweeney, a writer/photographer, uses her vivid imagination to create both children’s stories and adult books as she discusses the "Anatomy of a Local Murder Mystery".  On the pages of the South County Series, Sweeney creates her modern murder mysteries and sets them in the local historical places she knows so well – places that she holds close to her heart.  The events in Last Train to Kingston occur not far from her home in West Kingston while Last Rose on the Vine is set nearby at her alma mater, the University of Rhode Island.
