RI DEM Free Tree Event

RI DEM and its partners are providing 1,000 free trees for you to select at Portsmouth Free Public Library.  The trees will be in the Library parking lot from 9 AM to noon.  Homeowners must pre-register online after March 28 at www.arborday.org/ridem to receive their free tree.

32nd Annual Tree Lighting

The Library will hold its 32nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting tonight at 6 PM. Cocoa and cookies will be served in the Library lobby starting at 5:30 PM. The tree lighting will take place when Santa Claus arrives on a fire truck at 6 PM. Santa will talk to each child and candy canes will be given to each one. This is a wonderful way to begin the holiday season. Bring a camera!

For students in grades K through 12, Kermin Liu, Esq., volunteer tutor, will offer free homework help in arithmetic (including decimals and fractions), pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. Also, get help in how to study for other subjects such as history, science, English, etc. No advance sign up is required so just stop by between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Remember to bring your textbook, pencils, and paper.

E-waste Recycling Event

Bring your e-waste to the Library!  Indie Cycle, LLC will be in the Library parking lot to accept your e-waste items.  Electronics recycling includes computers, TVs, monitors, printers, toner cartridges, small appliances, air conditioners - anything with a wire!  No light bulbs please.  A $10 fee disposal fee is charged for air conditioners, mini-frdges, and dehumidifiers.  No light bulbs or hazadous waste accepted.

Blood Drive @ the Library

The RI Blood Center is doing a blood drive @ the Library.  First responders never take the summer off.  When it comes to lifesaving blood, YOU are the first responders.  We need you on duty!  1 donation can save 3 lives in our local hospitals.  Don't for get to bring your driver's license or another form of identication when you donate.  Visit  www.ribc.org to make an appointment, sponsor code 2974.
