Casey Farm will be here with a live Dominque Chicken and newly hatched chicks.  This is a one-hour educational program with time at the end for meeting and holding the chickens.  Children need to sit calmly and quietly for an hour for this program, but all ages are welcome.  Register at the Children's Room desk or call us at 683-9457.

Portsmouth Resources at RI Historical Society

The Rhode Island Historical Society is a great resource for genealogists and historians alike. Pack a lunch and join us at noon on Monday, May 23, at Portsmouth Free Public Library, as RIHS librarians Phoebe Bean and Michelle Chiles show and tell about the collections and their usefulness in family research. They will highlight Portsmouth resources in the holdings as well as new additions to the collections, reading room renovations, new resources, old favorites, and more!

Introduction to Cannabis with Courtney David

Courtney David will present an Introduction to Cannabis which will cover a brief history of cannabis, how it interacts with our bodies, an explanation of different varieties and their medicinal effects, as well as the different methods of consumption.

Ms. David will go over the process of becoming a medical marijuana patient in RI including the qualifying conditions, talking with your doctor, submitting an application and how to safely and legally obtain medical marijuana once you have become a patient.
